Court and Public Service Interpreting and Translation: Specialisation for Translation Studies Graduates

Building on a completed degree program in Translation Studies, the certificate course offers a high-quality specialization in translation and interpreting in public institutions, and, in particular, in court.

Participants are trained for professional activities in especially sensitive areas such as family law, asylum procedures and criminal proceedings, at the police, as well as at educational, healthcare and social institutions. Participants of this certificate course acquire, among other things, the necessary technical and social competencies and skills for court and public service interpreting. The certificate course alternately offers languages offered as part of a regular degree program that are currently urgently needed by the courts and public authorities. In the winter semester of 2022/23, Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian, English and Russian (as linguae francae) will be offered in combination with German.
