Graduation 2022
The twefth graduation ceremony of the LL.M. Program in International Law Program took place at the Great Ceremony Hall of the University of Vienna on 23rd September 2022. So much has happened since the last Graduation before the Covid-19 pandemic had paralyzed Europe, that it is not exaggerated to say that we are now living in a different world …
Since a large number of students had graduated and left Austria since 2020, only 11 graduates participated in this year’s ceremony. This year‘s graduates came from the following countries: Albania, Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Brazil, Chile, China, Egypt, the Philippines, and Vietnam.
In the evening, the graduates celebrated their accomplishments together with a group of LL.M. alumni at the Gösser Bierklinik, famous for Austrian culinary delights.
Two students excelled in their diploma reports with distinction. In their theses they focused on the following topics:
- Johanna Kathan Spath‘s thesis was supervised by Prof. August Reinisch and entitled:“ Mediation in ISDS. Reviewing the Enforceability of International Mediation Settlement Agreements in Investment Disputes”.
- Kristina Wascher Binder’s thesis was supervised by Prof. Hanspeter Neuhold and entitled: “The International Court of Justice and Nuclear Weapons”.
