Graduation 2017
The ninth graduation ceremony of the LL.M. Program in International Legal Studies took place at the Great Ceremony Hall of the University of Vienna on 27th September 2016. 14 students from 13 countries were conferred the LL.M. degree together with 27 further graduates from the LL.M. Program in European and International Business Law to the music of Händel, Mozart, and Schubert.
The graduates came from the following countries: Argentina, Bhutan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Norway, Russia, Slovak Republic, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine.
This year, two students excelled equally well with the best grades in all subjects: Amanda Streit-Neil (Australia) and Marina Stanisavljevic (Australia/Serbia), Martin Kasparek (Czech Republic), and Carla Meza Caballero (Peru)
- Marina Stanisavljevic‘s thesis was supervised by Prof. Christoph Schreuer and entitled:"The Increasing Role of Human Rights in Investment Arbitration: Implications and Challenges for Investors and Investment Law."
- Martin Kasparek‘s thesis was supervised by Prof. August Reinisch and entitled: "The Right to Expropriate – a Lawsuit against Norway and its Consequences for Investors in the Artic“".
- Carla Meza Caballero‘s thesis was supervised by Prof. August Reinisch and entitled: "The Relationship between the Requirements of "Independence" and having a "Significant Interest" for Third-Party Applicants in Investor-State Disputes".
