Teaching German as a Second/Foreign Language

In this certificate program, participants acquire wide knowledge in German as a second and foreign language. It closely combines theoretical principles and practical training, equipping students with necessary knowledge and competences. This should enable participants to impart German as a second and foreign language to (linguistically) heterogeneous learning groups, mainly in adult education, in a theoretically sound and practical way.

The certificate program targets people who would like to professionalize in the field of German as a second and foreign language, and keep their knowledge up to date with the current state of research. In addition, the course qualifies its participants for teaching German as a foreign language in regions where German is not an official language. For example, they could work at international universities (e.g. as university lecturers), and/or for private language course providers, educational institutions etc.
